Sonic & Mario at the Minus World AKA "Sonic Boll Project" is a game for PC where an 8-bit style Sonic the Hedgehog and other characters from Sonic games (Tails, Knuckles, Metal Sonic, Fire-Sonic and Ashura) runs and battle against each other in the environment of Super Mario Bros. The game is under development.

This is a concept shot showing all characters from the game in its beta 11 version. Observe that characters can hit theirselves on a versus mode.

Sonic & Mario at the Minus World iwritten in GM 8 and has been started in 5/17/2011. The project is maintained by the “Sonic Boll Team”, composed of the project leader FuZ (itsa me!), game programmer ReNeX, spriter Fractor and with help from the Exploding Rabbit Forums community.

The codename “Sonic Boll” comes from a brazillian joke involving ReNeX’s history with game making. “I chose that name because it [Boll] was the name of my first attempt at a game, from the times i didn’t know a word of english” –he said.

This is a fan game made with the only purpose intended being fun. There is no financial support neither profit purposes. Sonic the Hedgehog is a registered trademark of Sega. Super Mario is a registered trademark of Nintendo. Support the software companies by buying their current products.

Thank you! It was fun! The Special Stage is awesome!

My only questions are:
1. Why isn't there a battle mode?
and
2.Why do you lose a life if you fail the special stage?

I'm glad you liked it! :)

1. Hum, actually there is supposed to have there a batle mode on Sonic Boll 11. You can even play against a Metal-Sonic bot! :D
2. Hum.. That's something I have to ask to ReneX. But you know, we abandoned the Sonic on SMB idea to work on the new Sonic Boll 12, where the Sonic chars battle on SMB3. The special stage is something we'll review.

Join on Exploding Rabbit communitie, so you can participate on the development of this game! :)

(I don't like the fact when you can only do the multiplayer stuff with the silver sonic.Why did you take out race and CTF?Those were fun.

We didn't took it out. We just took it to fix its bugs.

You can play multiplayer with other characters when playing with other player. Try to buy a joystick and play it! It is a lot of fun! :D

If you don't mind, I have an idea!

What if for the 'story mode' you could play SMB as the characters, but in 'battle mode' they fight on SMB3?

And why would you abandon the 'Sonic on SMB' idea? I like that idea! :D

That's a long story, but basically we din't want conflict with Jay Pavlina's SMB Crossover.

Actually, we still don't want...
